Following an open dialogue and shared focus on the safety and well-being of the workforce, Newmont Peñasquito and the National Union of Mining, Metallurgical, Steel, and Similar Workers of Mexico have agreed on a new collective bargaining agreement for 2024-2026.
“As a company, we remain committed to upholding the highest standards of compliance as we work together with the union to navigate any future challenges, always prioritizing individual safety and fostering a culture of collaboration,” said Newmont.
The agreement safeguards the rights of all workers and provides a solid foundation for continuing operations that secures a sustainable future for the Peñasquito open-pit mine.
Peñasquito, located about 780 kilometers northwest of Mexico City, produces gold, silver, lead and zinc.
